Mole Mapping – Skin Cancer Screening

At Skin Marceau, mole mapping goes far beyond a simple skin examination. We use the Canfield IntelliStudio system , combined with cutting-edge artificial intelligence and Dermagraphix, to offer one of the most advanced , precise, and comprehensive skin monitoring solutions available today.

This cutting-edge technology is designed to detect risks earlier, analyse lesions with exceptional accuracy, and support our dermatologists in making highly informed clinical decisions.

Step 1 — AI-Assisted Total Body Mapping

A high-resolution photographic record of the entire skin surface is taken. Thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms with proven accuracy, each mole and lesion is automatically detected, mapped, and analyzed.

The system identifies even the most subtle changes and assigns a risk score, highlighting lesions that require closer monitoring — often before the changes are even visible to the human eye.

Step 2 — High-Precision D2 Dermoscopic Imaging

Lesions identified as presenting a higher risk are subjected to targeted dermoscopic imaging, with a magnification of 15× to 200×.

This ultra-detailed imaging allows visualization of microscopic skin structures with exceptional clarity, offering in-depth analysis based on objective, data-driven assessment.

Step 3 — Validation by a Dermatologist and Medical Report

All images and analyses generated by artificial intelligence are systematically reviewed by our dermatologists. They combine their clinical expertise with advanced imaging data to provide a clear, detailed, and understandable medical report.

If any lesions appear concerning, patients are contacted promptly to arrange the appropriate next steps, which may include biopsy or surgical excision if necessary.

Step 4 — Intelligent Long-Term Monitoring

Follow-up mapping sessions allow for extremely precise comparisons over time. Artificial intelligence detects even the slightest changes in each lesion, facilitating early intervention and offering unparalleled confidence in long-term skin health monitoring.

This technology-driven approach illustrates Skin Marceau’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and proactive skin cancer prevention — offering our patients the highest level of precision, safety, and peace of mind.

How Does Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Dermatoscopy Work

Artificial intelligence is now trained on millions of mole images, including benign and malignant lesions. By comparing your skin images to this extensive database, AI systems can provide:

  • A probability score (low, moderate or high).
  • Instant detection of suspicious characteristics.
  • An objective “second opinion” to support the clinician’s judgment.

Advantages of AI-Assisted Dermatoscopy

  • Increased sensitivity and specificity : reduction of false positives and false negatives.
  • Earlier detection : identification of subtle patterns sometimes imperceptible even to an expert eye.
  • Consistency : AI is not affected by fatigue or biases.
  • Reassurance for the patient : the results are systematically checked.

At Skin Marceau , AI-assisted dermatoscopy is always combined with an evaluation conducted by a dermatologist . The technology supports clinical expertise—it never replaces it.

What to Expect?

Before your visit to Skin Marceau

The day of your appointment

– The complete body mapping is carried out by a dermatology assistant or a trained nurse.

– Once the examination is complete, the images are sent to one of our dermatologists.

– The dermatologist then interprets the images taking into account the recommendations provided by the artificial intelligence.

After your appointment

A full medical report will be sent to you within one week of your appointment, along with, where applicable, the recommended treatment steps.
