Medical genioplasty: reshaping the chin without surgery

A medical genioplasty is based on injections of hyaluronic acid into the chin . This gesture aims to reshape the chin without surgery and so as to harmonize it with the rest of the face. This act acts on the shape, volume and projection of the chin .

When chin correction is combined with nose and lip treatment , it is part of a medical profiloplasty . This technique uses a set of hyaluronic acid injections that can target the three levels of the face:

• The upper third of the face: this involves restoring a natural, rounded appearance to the forehead by reducing the hollows of horizontal wrinkles.

With age and the onset of sagging skin , retrogenicity is accentuated and its consequences are greater.

If a minor retrogenia can be corrected effectively with injections of hyaluronic acid, a surgical procedure is necessary in the face of a very pronounced retrogenia.

A protruding chin or progeny corresponds to a protruding chin that is projected forward: this can thicken the face which appears hard and severe. This situation cannot be taken care of by medical genioplasty and involves surgery.

The presence of a chin fold or a dimple is also an indication for injections of hyaluronic acid in the chin: this fold gives a shortened appearance to the face and often causes complexes.

Hyaluronic acid is also used to masculinize the chin: the goal is to give it a more square shape: this is jawline contouring .

If slight redness or swelling occurs following the injections, these effects disappear fairly quickly.

In order to restore volume, the syringe of hyaluronic acid costs 450 euros. Depending on your initial indication (recoiling chin, chin fold filling or associated medical procedures), the number of syringes required may vary. It is common that 2 or 3 syringes of hyaluronic acid are needed. In this case, each additional syringe costs 300 euros.
